Keeping Innovation Relevant to the Business
Why this topic matters
Innovation teams are often involved in longer-term product development. Right now, understandably, their organisation may be more focused on the short-term.
This event hopes to encourage and embolden those teams to see this time as an opportunity to find new ways to reach into (and beyond) the organisation, using their valuable investigative and problem-solving skills to help their organisation flex and adapt to immediate market needs.
We’ll address this topic from two angles:
Firstly, how to be more of an “Intrapreneur” and creatively influence within your organisation. Jamie Qiu of Studio Zao will speak on this, as it is a subject is close to his heart.
Secondly, we’ll explore how to use change opportunities positively – such as when a major disruption occurs like we are going through now. Kerry Outlaw, a seasoned veteran of organisational change management, will speak on this and has many valuable nuggets to share.
For this event, we are allowing attendees (members and paying guests) to bring a colleague from another part of the business – free of charge. A colleague you feel can support the cause of innovation in the organisation or benefit from the material. Who might you bring?

Kerry Outlaw
Yellow Bean
Kerry had a successful career in investment banking before establishing her own consultancy post her MBA. Her customer base has encompassed private, public and third sector organisations such as Deutsche Bank, HSBC, Barclays, NHS organisations, Government departments, and Water Aid. She and her team have designed and driven multi-million budget global programmes of change management and business transformation involving business strategy, organisational design, new ways of working in the digital age, HR transformation, cultural change, non-financial risk and benefits realisation.
Kerry has a proven track record of encouraging the innovation and collaboration required to successfully redesign and implement new business and operating models where there is a growth agenda, or where the current state is becoming obsolete. Her passion lies in identifying sustainable strategies to re-invent or re-build strategic and cultural resilience in organisations in support of creating value for the ultimate customer. This is perhaps particularly relevant in this current COVID impacted environment.
