Retaining valued technologist talent
23rd November 2017, 8:45 am - 3:00 pm
How does one (or should one even wish to) hang on to good mid-career technologists and professionals, when there are limited obvious opportunities for career progression within the flat structures of today’s organisations?
Senior technologists and leaders in high-tech manufacturing firms “grew up” in a work environment and a cultural milieu very different to that of today. Understandably, the interests and needs of younger generations are not always obvious to them.
This event is therefore intended to:
shine a light on the motivations and expectations of the younger generations: Siobhan Soraghan, Director of the Network and Active Insight, will share fascinating results from Gallup research on the needs and drivers for millennials, Generation X and Generation Y.provide a safe and collaborative space for sharing effective practices: there will be rich story-telling from those who’ve found useful tried and tested approaches
promote creative thinking around solutions to this challenge, a conundrum that faces most organisations today: we’ll have dialogue fora for considering possibilities from various angles.
We encourage you to bring your senior HR colleagues as guests, as they are likely to be very interested in this topic and will have a valuable contribution to make.
The Manufacturing Technology Centre will be our hosts for the day and are kindly offering an optional tour of their facilities at 3pm (est. 1 hr).
